Surprised no one posted this: CBSLosAngeles.com, the combined website for KCBS-2, KCAL-9, KNX NewsRadio 1070 and KFWB News/Talk 980, made its debut. I don't know when it debuted.
KYW JUST launched their new graphics as of the 4pm newscast.
It's an improvement except for one thing... the frigging music. I think they kept their old cuts of enforcer.
EDIT: There are some MAJOR issues with the graphics on this installation. It doesn't look like they moved to a Viz hardware setup with this. Many of the lower third animations here just aren't present... [Read More]
As expected, KDKA did receive the O&O graphics treatment beginning with the noon newscast. I tuned in to the Morning News and they were still using the old stuff, but Mr. Valinsky confirms the change took place at 12.
I thought I'd hate this look on KD, but it really is a drastic improvement. They did finally switch to Enforcer, which was kind of unexpected. KDKA has also dropped the white outlines from it's logo.
Much more to come, I hope to have HD caps up by 5:00 tonight.
Milwaukee's WISN-TV, in partnership with Milwaukee Public Television and Marquette University, teamed up this evening to present a first of it's kind event which aired on 5 "affiliate" stations around the state (as well as locally on both WISN and WMVS). Phoenix ABC affiliate KNXV is gearing up to launch a new morning program called "Now@9" that will feature "a cross between news, buzz and social media". In a promotion uploaded to Youtube, the show's anchors are seen discussing what to talk about while checking the station's Facebook and Twitter pages on iPads. The show is set to debut on August 30th.
Much like it's sister network FOX News Channel, FOX Sports has recently begun producing programming using the full 16:9 screen and letterboxing the program on 4:3 SD feeds.
FOX began doing this on MLB on FOX programming a few weeks back, and has also begun doing it on NFL on FOX programming as of tonight with the debut of a new graphics package.
