Default CJOH-TV (CTV Ottawa) Newsroom Destroyed By Fire

CJOH-TV, the station on which Peter Jennings started his TV career, had it's newsroom destroyed overnight in a fire. The station housed an extensive archive as it was the initial home to the CTV National News.

The station has been temporarily relocated to the newsroom of CHRO-TV, the local A Television affiliate (and also a sister station).

Update: A photo gallery of the interior has been posted online, along with a video walkthrough with one of the station's reporters, and raw video from that walkthrough. Both videos available here.

The banner at the top of the page reads:

"CTV EXCLUSIVE: AFTER THE FIRE"

The newsroom burns to the ground, yet they still plug it as another exclusive story.

Note what else survives at fire at J.J. Clarke's desk in this photo:

Geeze.. They must be more allowing of that in Canadian newsrooms? I've known people at stations in Chicago that kept that at their desks but they at least kept it locked in their file cabinets.. And from the way those are sitting up there, I don't think those were just for desk decoration..

I guess CTV's Forecast is not powered by Vipir by Jim, Jack and Bud.

Not so temporary anymore, CTV is done with that studio location.
