Welcome to TVNewsTalk.net.

TVNewsTalk.net offers fans of local and national television news to take part in discussion involving such with both fellow fans and broadcast professionals. To help insure an enjoyable experience among all users, the following posting guidelines have been put in place:

Registration
Many features of the site are restricted to those who register with us. You are limited to one account. If, for whatever reason, you need more than one account, please contact an administrator. If you register multiple accounts without permission, the administration may ban and/or delete any and/or all of your accounts. All accounts are subject to administrator approval. You must be at least 13 years old to register for TVNewsTalk.net.

Posting
Please keep the following in mind when posting:

• DO NOT POST:
  • Obscene, hateful, or vulgar material.
  • "Insider Information".
    "Insider Information" is defined as any information that would only be known to employees or contracted groups involved with a station. (Example: "I know WXXX is getting new graphics from Y Creative Group because I hacked into their website and found samples!") Unless a station staffer has publicly mentioned information, do not post it as fact.
  • Destructive thread derailment. Destructive thread derailment includes bickering (nothing but back and forth personal attacks) and banter (small talk).
  • Lists like "What Anchors Play The Violin" or "Female Meteorologists That Have Been In Movies" or anything similar. Most "useful" list threads have already been posted. If you think you have a great idea for a list thread, ask an Administrator.
  • Advertisements. The only exception to this rule would be posting materials created by you and your contact information in the Graphics Department.
  • News music or fonts that require a license for their use (this applies to most of the fonts used in graphics packages).
  • Cracks, keygens, or other related piracy. Do not solicit or offer torrents for free copies of copyrighted material.
  • Threads like "WXXX Uses Wrong Cut Of Music At 5". See the "Shoutbox" section below.
• Guidelines:
  • The board should remain "work-safe" (PG-13) at all times. Any links to materials that would not fall under this description should be marked "NSFW" (Not Safe For Work).

Shoutbox
A real-time chat/shout box is available to members at the bottom of the Forum index page. The Shoutbox is a great place to share information that doesn't necessarily warrant a thread (Examples would include technical glitches, questions, and similar). Please do not post weather updates in the Shoutbox. Seriously, don't.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in:

• Gaining infraction points. Infraction points catalog user's rule violations for easy reference by the moderators and administrators. Accumulating a set number of infraction points over a short time period will put you on a moderated status and require staff review of your posts before they appear on the forum.
• Revocation of certain account privileges.
• Your posts, threads and/or signatures being moderated.
• A temporary suspension from the forums.
• A permanent ban.
